MEMBERSHIP

Regular attendees at meetings must become members. Monthly meetings provide an opportunity to learn from other members, to expand your herpetological knowledge through guest speakers, to transfer or obtain reptiles and to sort out any problems you may be having with your reptiles.

FIELD TRIPS

Throughout the warmer months, field trips are organised around the Sydney area and beyond. There is also a major annual field trip involving surveys in areas where the reptile status is unknown. In recent years this has focussed on areas in far western NSW, such as Sturt, Mootwingee, and Peery National Parks.

PUBLICATIONS

The society is a member of the Australian Affiliation of Herpetological Societies. This affiliation of societies in Australia and New Zealand provides the basis for the publication of the journal Herpetofauna which we distribute regularly as well as information circulars and newsletters. Members are encouraged to contribute articles dealing with reptiles and amphibians for the society’s publications.

LIBRARY

The society maintains a large library of reptile and amphibian related books. These are available on loan to financial members.
