MEETINGS
Members and visitors are all welcome to attend meetings, but membership is encouraged for those who attend several times, and is necessary to gain member benefits, such as free entry to the Australian Reptile Park and use of the Reptile Transfer facilities.
Visitors to our meetings should be advised:
* There is a small entry fee of $5.00 per repeat visitor. This includes three tickets in our lucky draw.
* First time visitors will not be charged.
* Children 14 years and under will not be charged.
Meetings begin with about ten minutes of business (field trips, NPWS meeting reports, etc) followed by a one hour talk by a guest speaker. Then there is coffee, tea and biscuits with general milling about and chatting. If you want information about reptile keeping, it is best to talk to people between 7 and 7:30pm, and then again at the end of the meeting. Also, join the society at a meeting or by mail in order to use our transfer board.
WHERE AND WHEN
The Australian Herpetological Society meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, except December, at the Australian Museum on the corner of College and William Streets, Sydney. If you enter up the stairs from William St, the door person will direct you up one flight to the Hallstrom Theatre (past the T. rex).
Doors open from 7.00pm for an 7.30pm start. Tea and coffee are available.
GETTING THERE
Parking is available in the streets around the museum, but parking meters run until 10pm.
If coming by train, alight at Museum station and walk across Hyde Park.
If coming into town by bus, walk down Park St (Town Hall on George St).
